Rebs Little Lulu Handicap
DUCK DASH N GO
by Tracy Gantz
Duck Dash N Go, a stakes winner at the Oneida County Fair, had come close in several Los Alamitos stakes, but had never put it
together for a stakes victory there until Oct. 27. That night, she powered home in the Rebs Little Lulu Handicap.
With Rodrigo Aceves in the irons, Duck Dash N Go broke second from the rail and took a quick lead in the 350-yard event. She stopped the timer in :17.648 with a 3/4-length margin.
Monty Arossa trains Duck Dash N Go for owner Vincent Treyes, who purchased the filly for $18,000 at the 2015 Heritage Place Yearling Sale from JEH Stallion Station as agent.
Last year Duck Dash N Go won the Oneida County Fair Futurity and finished second in the B & W Stakes. This year she was second in the Bitterroot Derby and third in the Merial Los Alamitos Distaff Challenge-G3. The filly also set a 300-yard New Track Record at Oneida County Fair in 2016. The $8,250 winner’s share of the $15,000 purse pushed the filly’s earnings to $52,192.
Bobby Cox bred Duck Dash N Go in Oklahoma from Duck Mea Running, a 6-time stakes winner and 2-time Ntr setter. The mare has produced 6 winners in 9 starters, including stakes-placed Makit Snappi.
Christopher O’Dell trains Sunbeamssecretbeauty (Mr Jess Perry-Secret Separation), who ran 2nd.
Jose Nicasio rode the allowance-winning filly for owner Helen Beamer and O’Dell. Parsons Family Limited Partnership’s homebred Designs By Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Terrific Energy) finished 3rd with Eduardo Nicasio aboard. O’Dell also trains Designs By Dynasty, who earlier this year qualified for the Golden State Derby-G2. Followed by Jess A Lil Fishy (Apollitical Jess-Lil Fishy), Jess Klas (One Sweet Jess- This Snow Shows Klas), and Doing Trix (One Sweet Jess-A Perfect Cocktail).
