of the most intensive out- of-competition testing programs in the nation.

Walt Fletcher, Gordon Hannagan and Streakin La Jolla are inducted into the AQHA Hall
of Fame during the 2012 AQHA Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Yavapai Downs, in Prescott Valley, Arizona, is offered for sale at a bankruptcy auction. Three days later, the United States Department of Agriculture rejects a bid of more than $3.25 million for the track. The USDA holds liens of approximately $15 million on the track.

The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission amends their contraband rule to prohibit anyone from possessing any form of clenbuterol other than the FDA-approved Ventipulmin Syrup and Aeropulmin Syrup in their original container.

A Florida judge begins hearing discussion about whether barrel racing is an allowed pari-mutuel activity after Gretna Racing, near Tallahassee, conducted a pari-mutuel barrel racing meet in late December, 2011.

The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission approved level
of clenbuterol in post-race samples for all breeds racing in Oklahoma drops from 500 pg/ ml to 275 pg/ml.
The Economics of Horse Racing in Canada, a study released by Equine Canada and Strategic Equine, reports that the horse racing industry in Canada generates more than 47,000 full-time equivalent jobs and $5.7 billion annually to the national economy. The Ontario horse racing industry contributes $4.5 billion, or 77%, of the total annual economic contributions from racing in Canada.

Jockey G.R. Carter Jr. moves into second place on the all- time win list when he won his 3,338th race. The win came at Remington Park aboard Ivory Diva, owned by C.L. Anderson and trained by Roe Gordon.

Jockey Jimmy Brooks wins his 1,000th career race at Remington Park. Brooks won the evening’s 11th race, a maiden $20,000 claiming race, aboard GRC Paint Me Quick (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Shes Really Quick, Bully Bullion) for trainer Eddie Willis and owners Alona James and Charles Hainline.
