“He believed in the horse, he knew I was breeding for barrels, and he said this cross and this horse was going to be a standout in the barrels,” she continued. “I did my own research, but he was my inspiration.”
A Streak Of Fling was bred by Ferman Mayo of Atoka, Oklahoma, and was purchased in 2000 by Sheila Reed and then in 2002 by Eddie Willis. A Streak Of Fling is a graded stakes finalist in the Blue Ribbon Futurity-G3 and Blue Ribbon Derby. He won three of his 13 starts with four seconds and $27,645 in earnings. He was purchased by Brian and Lisa Fulton through Jerry Sipes in 2003 and sired his first foals in 2005.
The first crop of foals by A Streak Of Fling show the versatility of his foals and his ability to cross over into more than barrel racing. This crop includes: A Streak Of Fame, a full brother to Fame Fling N Bling, with barrel earnings of $14,652; A Streak Of Rita, an earner of $375,653 in barrel racing; A Streakin Dandy with 53 AQHA performance points and a qualifier to the 2010 AQHA World Show in heading and heeling; and Streakin Otoe Fling with 79.5 AQHA points in roping and an open and amateur ROM.
The 2006 A Streak Of Fling crop of foals gives us more of the same. This is the crop that includes Fame Fling N Bling and 2011 AQHA High Point All Around Horse Streakin Boon Dox. He was the High Point
Heeling Horse, High Point Junior Horse, and High Point Stallion, to name just a few of his titles for the year. He has earned 402 performance points and Superiors in heading and heeling.
A Streak Of Fling has proven Jerry Sipe’s prediction that he would be a barrel horse sire. His foals have earned over
$2.7 million, making him the Equi-Stat #7 All-Time Leading Sire of barrel horse money earners. Some of the other leading money earners include Streakin Easy April ($157,102), KR Last Fling ($120,151) and Streakinflingindisco ($90,082).
