Fair Handicap, and a second in the 1979 All American Futurity.
Streakin Six is the sire of $17,349,990 with 859 starters, 663 racing ROM, and 75 stakes winners. His leading money earner is All American Futurity-G1 winner Noblesse Six.
Streakin Six is a barrel racing sire in his own right, including such noted horses as Cruisin On Six (Cruisin) who helped Charmayne James win her 11th WPRA World Championship in 2002. He is also the sire of Sixth Vision (Stitch), the 2007 AQHA/WPRA Barrel Horse of the Year ridden by Brittani Pozzi-Pharr to win the 2007 WPRA World Championship.
Streakin Six is sired by Easy Six, a stakes winner in the Sun Country Futurity and Kansas Derby who earned $198,740. Easy
Six has sired 180 foals with 146 starters, 122 racing ROM, 14 stakes winners, and the earners of $2,628,286. Easy Six is by Easy Jet and out of Peggy Toro by Hijo The Bull TB. Peggy Toro is out of Prescott Peggy Joe by Double Joe H and out of Peggy N by Clabber.
The roll of Easy Six in barrel racing
is very interesting. His line has produced A Streak Of Fling, Marthas Six Moons, Packin Sixes, Tres Seis, Streakin Again, Royal Shake Em, Hutt Six and Deep Sixum, all Equi-Stat top 100 sires of barrel racing money earners.
The dam of A Streak Of Fling is Moon Fling, winner of the Vespero Express Stakes and Paul Travis Stakes. She raced to the age of five with 18 wins in her career, earning $69,507. She is the dam of 21 foals, 18 starters, and 16 ROM including stakes placed runners Beam Me Up Kelly, A Special Fling, and Fast Moonbeam.
Moon Fling is by Fast Fling, a AAA rated ROM race horse. The pedigree of Fast Fling is steeped in the Bud Warren bloodlines. His sire is Calamity Jones by Jet Deck. Calamity Jones is out of Connie Reba by Sugar Bars and out of Connie Leo by Leo. The dam of Fast Fling is Fast Stripper by Sugar Bars and out of 89’er by King P-234. Warren stood Jet Deck, Sugar Bars and Leo. Connie Reba and 89’er were
Warren broodmares. The great barrel sire Flit Bar was bred by Bud Warren and is sired by Sugar Bars and out of Flit by Leo.
The dam of Moon Fling is unraced Moon Beam Lady, dam of 16 foals, 13 starters and eight ROM. Her only stakes winner is Moon Fling. Moon Beam Lady is by Lady Bug’s Moon by Top Moon and Lady Bug’s Moon
is out of FL Lady Bug. The dam of FL Lady Bug is Yeager’s Lady JA.
Steve McDonald may have summed it up best about Fame Fling N Bling and her role as a great horse, “Of all the horses I have had in my lifetime, I have never had anything close to what she was. Hopefully, we will get more. The breeding programs have stepped up in the last few years and now, she has put us in the breeding business not only with her offspring, but with
the other mares we have been able to get because of her. We are excited in what we might be able to do here.”
Yes, we did lose a legend, but the legacy of Fame Fling N Bling will certainly live on.
. . . when they found Bling, they found what he calls the “perfect horse.” As he put it, “She was just what you wanted in a barrel horse.”
