obert Fox’s Justoneofthemgirls, a daughter of
Seperate Interest, scored an upset victory in the $43,800 Gillette Derby at Energy Downs on June 25.
The 10th-fastest qualifier from two trials contested on June 9, Justoneofthemgirls covered 350 yards in :17.819, and her winning margin was 3/4-length from fastest qualifier BHR The Bomb Dot Com. David Jimenez rode the brown filly for trainer Diana Garfias.
Justoneofthemgirls was bred in California by Cade Burns, and she was purchased as a yearling by Fox
for $18,000 at the 2021 Los Alamitos Equine Sale. The filly is out of Sereni Tea Rose, a daughter of 1987 World Champion First Down Dash. Her second dam St Pats Tea, won two Graded stakes in 2001, including the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Derby-RG2 at Fair Grounds Racecourse in New Orleans.
Justoneofthemgirls traces back to her fourth dam Native Tea, a multiple stakes winning daughter of the Raise A Native TB stallion Sparkling Native.
The filly has won two of 10 starts, and the $21,900 winner’s share of the purse from her first stakes score bumped her bankroll to $32,807.
BHR The Bomb Dot Com (One Mean Eagle- BHR Eau So Flashy) banked the $8,760 runner-up share of the purse for her owner Broken Heart Ranch. Kody Kellenberger rode the homebred filly for trainer Robert Johnson. Absolut Keerash (The Marfa Lights-Absolut Pride) finished third. Jesus Valenzuela rode the homebred sorrel gelding for owner and trainer Lukrena Schoonover.
Flightofthephoenix (Fly Thru The Fire-Aqua Hawk), Nomad Too (Fly Thru The Fire-Moonlight Corona), Makin It Rayne (Hes Relentless-Marmolly), Baby I Du (Duponte-Lil Baby Eagle), West Texas Prize (FDD Dynasty-Ms First Prize Rose), Monicas Favorite (Favorite Cartel-Santa Monica MV),
and Lonely At The Bar Z (Five Bar Cartel-Lonely Tonight) completed the order of finish.

hasing Glock, the second-fastest qualifier for
the $40,450 KC Carden Wyoming Bred Derby, proved uncatchable in the main event, winning the 350-yard main event on June 25 at Wyoming Downs.
Piloted by jockey Julian Zavala, Chasing Glock broke second and assumed command shortly after the break. He dueled throughout with Where Is
My Corona, forging clear in the late stages to post a 1/2-length victory over that foe. The winner stopped the timer in :17.610, earning a speed index of 92.
A Wyoming homebred for Bud and Toni Pendleton and trained by Lukrena Schoonover, Chasing Glock is now a winner in four of six starts and the $18,607 winner’s share of the purse increased his earnings to $39,007. A winner
in two of five starts last year as a juvenile, Chasing Glock, who is out of the Chase This Leader mare Leading The Chase, is unbeaten in a pair of starts this season, having also annexed his Wymong Derby trial heat on June 11.
Runner-up Where Is My Corona (Salt Point Bay- Keepyourshirton) finished a game second under jockey Jesus Canales. Owned by Raul Caballero and bred by Raul in partnership with Luis Caballero, Where Is My Corona, who is multiple stakes placed, is trained by Sergio Canales. The bay filly finished third in the Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity last season at two.
Third-place finisher Kcross Cuatro (RGR Jungle Jock-Caseys Six Pack) surged late under Nakia Teeter to claim the show spot, just a neck behind the runner-up. Owned by BDS Performance Horses, the multiple stakes-placed sorrel gelding is trained by Skyler Greene and was bred in Wyoming by Wagonhammer Ranch.
JJs Hawk (Second Painted Sign-Nurse Hawkinson), The Eagle Way (Oceans Apart-Eagle Nation), Overcooked (Flay-Over The Top), Vanellope (Flay- Black Carmel), Yo Fifty Hot Rod (Fiftyshadezofgrey- Tanqery Dash), and Lanes Dynasty (JR Dynasty Mountain-Rare Lane) completed the order of finish. Kcross Chilledcorona was scratched.
Governer’s Cup Handicap

n her first out since December, Pattys Saint scooped
up the win in the $15,000 Governer’s Cup Handicap at Wyoming Downs on June 11. Not surprisingly, she was the favorite to win. She finished the 300 yards in :15.285 for a speed index of 103. Guided by jockey Jesus Virgen, the multiple stakes placed mare out showed the runner up by 1 1/4 lengths.
This home bred Idaho mare raked in another $9,000 in winnings from this purse for owner Robert L. Harrison, boosting her total career earnings to $230,331. Under trainer Heath Hillman, Pattys Saint has shined, with 14 wins out of 21 starts during her racing career to date. Eight of those 14 wins have been in stakes races. Her last win was the Grade 1 Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap at Los Alamitos last September.
Pattys Saint is out of Sp Saint Patty, by graded stakes winning sire Saint Shackleton. Sp Saint Patty was also trained by Heath Hillman. Pattys Saint has been the leading progency by earnings for the last four consecutive years by sire Jess Got Easier.
Seated by jockey Julian Zavala, Pappajeto (Pappasito-Streaking Secrets) finished in the second place slot by 3/4-lengths for owners David and Linda Burt and trainer Burt Stoney. The multiple stakes placed gelding has won four outs at Wyoming Downs in previous years.
Sophia Maria (Apollitical Jess-Fantastic Follies) finished in third under Elmer Castillo for owner Gary D. Stringham and trainer Kylie Valenzuela.
Followed by Freight Boss (Freighttrain B-RW Red Wave), Vf Give Me A Prize (First Prize Stanley- Red Temptress), Five Bar Rockstar (Five Bar Cartel-Genre), Fantastic Minion (Fantastic Corona Jr-Gigarad), DQ’d from 3rd to 8th was Classic Dynasty Dash (JR Dynasty Mountain-Steffiesclassic Dash), then Lew Lew Belle (Big Lew-Queenly Walk), Rayshas Kidd Trax (Kiddy Up-Rayshas Pink Sky).
