Sweet Beduino made two trips to the court of First Down Dash—one in 1996 and one in 1997, producing One Sweet Dash in 1997 and Walk Thru Fire in 1998. Walk Thru Fire was a stakes finalist in the Golden State Futurity-G1, Los Alamitos Million Futurity-G1 and El Primero Del Ano Derby-G2. He earned $94,280 while win- ning two races finishing second two times and third two times.
Walk Thru Fire has become a successful sire of 292 ROM, with 36 stakes winners and 26 stakes-placed runners. His stakes winners include Higher Fire, AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old and AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old Filly; Separate Fire, AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old
Filly; and Pink Boots RM, AQHA Racing Champion 3-Year-Old Filly. Some of his other stakes winners are This Partys On Fire, winner of the Golden State Million Futurity-G1; Hot Hitter, winner of the Governors Cup Futurity-RG2 and the Governors Cup Derby-RG1; Chivalry SR, winner of the Spencer Childers California Breeders Championship Stakes-RG1; and Flame N Flash, winner of the Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1.
One Sweet Dash was the fifth stakes winner out of Sweet Beduino. This mare earned her black type in the Prescott Downs Futurity-G3, Phoenix Futurity-G3 and the AQRA Lassie Stakes. She earned $81,937 winning six of her 14 starts with two seconds and two thirds. She was a runner-up in the
Charger Bar Handicap and a finalist in the PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity-G1 and the Town Policy Handicap.
One Sweet Dash is proving to be a very special broodmare. She is the dam of nine foals and seven starters with three stakes winners including two horses that have
won races worth $1 million dollars. Her
son Hes A Standout, by Strawfly Special, won the Canadian Juvenile Challenge,
was second in the Canadian Quarter
Horse Cup Futurity-RG3 and was a final- ist in the AQHA Juvenile Championship Challenge-G2 and the Canadian Quarter Horse Cup Derby-RG3. He earned $45,402.
The first million-dollar race winner for
One Sweet Dash was One Sweet Jess, by Mr Jess Perry. This 2008 stallion won the 2010 Golden State Million Futurity-G1. His other stakes win came in the Ed Burke Juvenile Stakes. He was second in the Los Alamitos Super Derby-G1 and the Z. Wayne Griffin Directors Stakes at 3. He earned $953,592 with seven wins, four seconds and two thirds in 19 starts.
