hrissy Ledoux scored her third stakes victory in
the 250-yard $30,000 Mark T Bars Stakes at Turf Paradise on April 22.
Ridden by Luis Valenzuela, the sorrel filly broke in second during a crowded start and quickly moved into the lead. She made easy work of the event, crossing the wire 3/4-length in front. She stopped the timer in :13.169, while posting a 104 speed index.
Chrissy Ledoux brought home the $17,670 win- ner’s share of the purse for breeders/owners Ralph and Carolyn Fales and trainer Matthew Fales. Her current bankroll is currently at $99,031.
Raced in Arizona and California, Chrissy Ledoux has won six races from 11 starts, including the 2021 AQRA Turf Paradise Futurity and 2022 AQRA Turf Paradise Derby Consolation. She was also third in the Allred Bros Stakes earlier this year and was a finalist in the 2022 Los Alamitos Oaks-G3.
The Fales’ bred Chrissy Ledoux out Jess One Looke, winner of the 2014 AQRA Turf Paradise Futurity. She has produced 100% winners from four starters, includ- ing Looke N At Me, winner of the Stallionesearch.com Distaff earlier this year. Chrissy Ledoux is her second stakes winner and top money earner.
La Panama West (Panama Wes-JM The Dance) and jockey Martin Osuna finished in second for owner Roberto Baeza and trainer Candelario Villamar. Also owned and trained by the Fales family, Soul Sister (FDD Dynasty-Heart And Soul) came in third under Aaron Belloc. Followed by RR Primera Dama (Panama Wes-Check N Chick Out), Tubac Royale (Flair For Dancing-Spectacular Fit), YN Mira Linda (Leading Texan-Jess Feelin Blue), Freighttrain Stew (Freighttrain B-Strawfling Dina), RR Czech This Panama (Panama Wes-Cranberry Czech), Chocolate Wagon (Wagon Runnin Loose- Dashing Righter), Sixteen Red (Panama Wed-Blazen Mama). Rodriguez’s TM Dee First Bar score a wire-to-wire victory in the $25,000 Winners Circle Church Stakes for state-breds at Louisiana Downs on March 31.
Prepped by Fernando Valdez and sent to post at odds of 11-1, TM Dee First Bar went 350 yards in :17.801, and his winning margin was a head over 2-1 favorite Dianetoseparatefromu. Ubaldo Luna rode TM Dee First Bar, a 5-year-old gelding.
TM Dee First Bar was bred by Two The Max Investments, and he was claimed by Rodriguez for $20,000 on Feb. 23.
Raced exclusively in Louisiana, TM Dee First Bar has won six of 26 starts, and the $15,000 win- ner’s share of this purse from his first stakes victory increased his earnings to $80,030.
Dianetoseparatefromu (Inseperable-Coronas Concierge) banked the $5,000 runner-up share of the purse for his owner Angel Juarez Corona. Eleazar Hernandez rode the 4-year-old gelding for trainer Leonel Hernandez.
Elsa Mendoza’s RM Super Angel (Super Sonic Patriot-Fashion Report) finished third, 1 1/4-lengths behind TM Dee First Bar. Mario Trujillo rode the homebred 4-year-old mare for trainer Mario Trujillo Jr.
JM Friday (Jess Louisiana Blue-Bench Mark Dove), Denalia Sweet Jess (One Sweet Jess-Denali Chick), Onemorewildtrain (Freighttrain B-One More Card), JJ Heza Fast Dash Jr (Heza Fast Dash- Forever Real), Emorylee (Freighttrain B-Dashin Bambam), and Inseperablebaby (Inseperable-Carry On Baby) completed the order of finish.
The Winners Circle Church Stakes recognizes the work done for the local racing community by track chaplain Jimmy Sistrunk. The local chaplaincy offers weekly church services, counseling, clothing and healthcare resources for backstretch workers and their families. .

Stakes at Louisiana Downs on April 1, D Cosmic Cartel charged through the lane to nip race favorite Bye Corona by a neck at the finish of the 400-yard test.
Ridden by Eleazar Hernandez, D Cosmic Cartel broke alertly and raced in second position early, chas- ing Bye Corona away from the gate. The pair hooked up in a contentious duel with D Cosmic Cartel forg- ing ahead late to prevail in the fast time of :19.774 to secure his first stakes victory at the age of five, while posting a 101 speed index.
The winning effort improved D Cosmic Cartel’s lifetime record to 16-4-2-4 for owner/breeder Guillermo Herrera and increased his bankroll to $104,550. While the Lip Chip was the initial stakes score for D Cosmic Cartel, the horse owns second- place finishes in the TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity-G3 and in the Sam’s Town Stakes. Produced from
the Oak Tree Special mare Special Love Shack, D Cosmic Cartel is trained by Leonel Hernandez.
Runner-up Bye Corona (Open Me a Corona- Corona Dashin Bye), with jockey Juan Garcia aboard, just missed for owner Alexander Carreon Mendez and trainer Fernando Valdez. Bred in Louisiana by Bobby Barnett, the sorrel 4-year-old gelding is now multiple stakes-placed.
EC Abella (Valiant Hero-Fast Prize Tracy) and jockey Leonardo Rodriguez finished third, 1-length behind the second-place finisher, for owner Alejandro Almanza and trainer Rolando Almanza. Bred in Oklahoma by William Smith, the 7-year-old mare was making her first start of the season in the Lip Chip.
