JOE B JAMMIN (JOE B)
The Martha Josey clinics have been an integral part of the career for Martha and the clinic plays a key role in her getting Joe B Jammin. She recalled it this way. “He was another one that I never owned. I leased him from a girl that came to my very first clinic and her daddy brought her from Pennsylvania. She had a little ole playday horse and she went home and trained Joe B Jammin. He was super! Won the Congress several times with different riders.”
Joe B Jammin with Martha in the saddle won the Lone Star Circuit, an AQHA Reserve World Championship, the Equus America, Equus Extreme Championship, and then he accompanied Martha on the Wheaties cereal box, an honor that she is very proud of as an exhibitor.
Joe B Jammin is another example of race blood with foundation bloodlines. Joe Tee sired him, a son of Top Moon, who was sired by Moon Deck and out of Rica Bar by Barred. The dam of Joe Tee was Miss Jo Baby by Wrangler Joe by Joe Moore by Little Joe and out of Della Moore. Miss Jo Baby was out of
 ORANGE SMASH (SMASH)
Martha will tell us about the role Orange Smash played in her run to qualify for the NFR in 1998 which qualified her for an eleventh NFR. “I never owned him. He was by Easily Smashed. His owner was a racehorse guy. I went to the NFR on him. He could run in those big pens so good. I won Ellensburg, Walla Walla and Puyaliup all within 10 days.” The story behind these three shows is that she was recovering from an injury that had stopped her competing, and the three Washington shows put her back on track to qualify for the NFR in 1998. They even won a go round at the NFR. They also won the 1997 NBHA Senior Division World Championship and the 1997 NBHA Open Reserve World Championship. Orange Smash became a Breyer Horse celebrating his success in the barrel arena.
Orange Smash was sired by Easily Smashed, the 1981 AQHA Racing
Champion Three-Year-Old Colt and winner of that year’s Kansas Derby and the 1980 Sun Country Futurity. The sire record for Easily Smashed shows that he sired the winners of $9,307,268 with 794 ROM, 63 stakes winners.
His leading money earner was Chrises Smash with $276,529 in earnings. Easily Smashed was a barrel horse sire with horses like Smashed Lara, the 1997 AQHA World Champion Barrel Racing Horse and a Superior barrel racer.
Thoroughbred horses dominate the pedigree of Orange Smash. Easily Smashed is sired by Easy Jet by Jet Deck and out of Lena’s Bar, a Thoroughbred mare by Three Bars. The dam of Easily Smashed was Smash It, a Thoroughbred mare by Foggy Road by Misty Flight by Princequillo, and Smash It was out of Wembley Blue by British Roman, and her dam was Nasrullene by Nasrullah. Orange Julia, the dam of Orange Smash, was a Thoroughbred mare by Don B by Fleet
