Like the race winner Tempted Seis, Relentless Jessie was near the bottom of the qualifying ladder—ninth, to be exact. Relentless Jessie previously was a finalist in the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity-G1 and the FL Lady Bug Stakes.
Another of Robinson’s trainees, Three Blue Coronas (Jess Louisiana Blue-Corona Three), took third place by 3/4-lengths. The colt,
who won his trial by 1 1/2-lengths after being bumped at the start, was the second-fastest
on the qualifying ladder. Three Blue Coronas is owned by Justin Lee Robinson. Andrew Samaniego was aboard in what marked the first career defeat for Three Blue Coronas, who was also the post-time favorite at close to even- money odds.
Eye Cartel (Favorite Cartel-Eyema Candy Tree) finished in a dead heat for fifth with Rockcreek Blues (Capo De Capi-Birthday Blues). Jess A Lota (Lota PYC-Jess One More Thing) originally finished fourth, but was placed sixth via disqualification for interference in the late stretch. Followed by Beaus Blood (Apollitical Blood-Jumpn Beau Chick), Tres Southern Prize (Tres Seis-SS Southern Lady) and Ms Fast Prize Doll (Freighttrain B-Fast Prize Doll). Walkin In Fashion was scratched. He was the fastest qualifier.
