Fiesty Icon dueled his way to his third stakes victory in the $42,390 Ontario Sires Stakes at
Ajax Downs on July 1.
Under Ed Walton, Fiesty Icon
broke in second from the 6-post and steadily chased down Ghost Pines, catching her midway through the sprint. Fiesty Icon held on to cross the wire 1/2-length in front, completing the 330 yards in :16.630, which was good for a 102 speed index.
Owned and trained by Richard Kennedy, the gelding posted his 16th career score and third in stakes company. The $17,481 win- ner’s share boosted his total life- time earnings to $219,569.
Raced exclusively in Canada, all of Fiesty Icon’s stakes victories have come at Ajax Downs, includ- ing the 2015 Ontario Sires Stakes Derby and the 2016 Ontario Sires Stakes Maturity.

Fiesty Icon is her first stakes win- ner and top earner. His second dam is lightly raced Go Dashing Nancy, dam of West Texas Maturity-G3 runner-up Its Kasual.
