HOSPITALITI

Hospitaliti didn’t show her rivals much in the way of a generous reception in the $47,348 Alex Picov
Memorial Derby at Ajax Downs on Sept. 23. Instead, the 3-year-old sorrel filly ran her rivals off their feet with a flashy victory in the 400-yard test.
Ridden by Shanley Jackson, Hospitaliti raced in third position early. She forged to the front in the lane and finished strongly to score by 3/4-length as the race favorite. She stopped the timer in :20.160, earning a speed index of 93 for trainer Greg Watson.
Owned by Glen Graff of Ohio, Hospitaliti earned $18,940, boosting her career bankroll to $41,290. It was
the fourth lifetime win from 11 starts for Hospitaliti and her second straight after annexing her Sept. 9 trial heat as the fastest qualifier.
Bobby Cox bred Hospitaliti out
of winner Shenoshercorona. She
has produced 100% money earn-
ers from 20 starters, including top earner Favorite Cartel, winner of the AQHA Challenge Championship-G1, Los Alamitos Championship Challenge-G2 and Paul B Ford Memorial. Hospitaliti becomes her third stakes winner.
Runner-up Spy For The Senate (Louisiana Senator-Corona Spy) fought bravely throughout under Oscar Andrade Jr. for owner Milena
Kwiecien and trainer Jason Pascoe. Shes Sizzlin (Sizzlin Cartel- Shenandoah Special) and jockey
Ramiro Castillo also dueled throughout and held third for own- ers Joyce and Erik Lehtinen, who also trained the filly.
Jess A Deal (Dealagame-Jess Marcy), Five Bar Fandango (Five Bar Cartel-Had To Be Fandango), Rey Of The Night (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Unveil), Chicksdigmymoneybags (Chicks Regard-Aaneta), Jess A Sweet Surprize (Sweet First Down-Jess Curl My Prize), Stripper Dust (Louisiana Senator-Miranda Fame) and Luv Cartel (Teller Cartel-Faded Luv) com- pleted the order of finish.
