One Dashing Eagle’s dam, One Sweet Dash, as a yearling. One Sweet Dash’s full brother, leading sire Walk Thru Fire.
Chick’s Fantacia is out of Fantacia, a four-time stakes winner. Fantacia went on to become an AQHA Champion and Superior halter horse. Fantacia was bred by Hoss Inman of Lamar, Colorado. Her dam is Fantasy, a Lightning Bar mare bred by Art Pollard of Ari- zona. Fantacia and Fantasy became broodmares for Paul Travis of Norman, Oklahoma. This
is where Fantacia was bred to Three Chicks, producing Chick’s Fantacia. So Chick’s Fanta- cia gives One Famous Eagle his fourth cross to the Three Bars/Chicado V cross. His breeding pattern to this cross is 5x5x5x5.
When I see a breeding pattern like this I am reminded that many of our nicks come through horses that carry a common bond between the sire and dam. This 5x5x5x5 breeding pattern to the full brothers Triple Chick and Three Chicks is that kind of common bond or common blood that can be found in some nicks.
Fantasy is not only sired by Lightning Bar, but she is out of Miss Bank, the famous Quarter racing mare. Miss Bank raced with the best and defeated many of them. She is credited with winning two stakes races including the Tucson Speed Stakes and the Silver City Champion- ship Stakes. Her official race record shows that she set, tied or equaled eight track records from distances of 220 to 400 yards at seven different tracks. She is the dam of Bankette, who is the dam of the Champion Rebel Cause.
Miss Bank represents the taproot mare in this tail female line. She founded a line of horses that have most of their performance based on speed. She is sired by Captains Courageous, by Stimulus, by Ultimus. Stimulus represents the blood of Domino through his sire Ultimus. Ultimus was inbred to Domino, as his sire and dam were both sired by Domino. The dam of Miss Bank was Apron Strings, a polo mare. Her pedigree is unknown.
DAM LINE
When we start to look at the pedigree of One Dashing Eagle’s dam One Sweet Dash, we see greatness in the making...or maybe it is al- ready here. One Sweet Dash is the dam of seven starters with seven ROM and three stakes win- ners. They have won over $2.6 million. She has produced two million-dollar race winners that have now won three million-dollar races. The first was the Mr Jess Perry son One Sweet Jess, who is a three-quarter brother to One Dashing Eagle. One Sweet Jess won the Golden State Million Futurity-G1 and the Ed Burke Juvenile en route to $953,592 in career earnings.
One Sweet Dash is a product of one of
the greatest crosses the Quarter Horse racing industry has had the privilege of seeing on the racetrack. She is a daughter of First Down Dash, by Dash For Cash, and out of a daughter of *Beduino. Some of the greats to carry this cross include First Femme, Royal Quick Dash, Check Her Twice, Dash Thru Traffic, and this list could go on and on.
One Sweet Dash is a good representative of the First Down Dash/*Beduino cross with three stakes wins in the Phoenix Futurity-G3, Prescott Downs Futurity-G3 and AQRA Lassie Stakes
as well as a runner-up finish in the Charger Bar Handicap. She brought home $81,937 during her race career.
A look at the mares in the tail female line
of One Sweet Dash tells us that she comes by her race and produce record honestly. She is
out of Sweet Beduino, a stakes-placed daughter of *Beduino. Sweet Beduino is the dam of 17 starters with 13 winners and five stakes winners. The five stakes winners have won 10 stakes races. They include This Jet Is Royal, a Grade 3 winner of four stakes, Superior Racehorse and track record setter; A Dash of Beduino, winner of the El Primero Del Ano Derby-G2; Posting
The Colors, first in the Robert Huebeck Memo- rial Stakes and Grade 3-placed; and Fly With Honor, who set a new track record in winning the Informant Derby.
One of the most significant contributions from Sweet Beduino is her son Walk Thru Fire. This son of First Down Dash—making him a full brother to One Sweet Dash—won only 2
of 21 races, but was a finalist in five stakes races including two Grade 1 races, and has become an outstanding sire. His foals have earned over $12 million and include such noted runners as the Champions Higher Fire, Pink Boots RM and Separate Fire.
Sweet Beduino is out of Sweet Game, by Game Plan, a son of Go Man Go. Sweet Game is a stakes winner of the Sophomore Handicap. She is the dam of 19 starters with 11 winners, 15 ROM, two stakes winners and three stakes- placed runners. Her stakes winners are Prescott Downs Derby winner Dash For Game and Sweeten The Pot, winner of seven stakes includ- ing the Kaweah Bar Handicap-G3, Shue Fly Handicap-G3 and Double Bid Handicap-G3. Sweeten The Pot was second or third in seven more stakes races.
The next mare in this line is Sweet Feast, by Leo Feast. Leo Feast is one of the earlier run- ners trained by Jack Brooks. He is sired by the Thoroughbred Feast and out of Kay Cindy Leo, a full sister to Palleo Pete. Kay Cindy Leo and Palleo Pete are sired by Leo and out of Osage Star Lady.
Sweet Feast is a winner of four stakes races including the Rocky Mountain QHA Derby and was second or third in four more stakes races. She is the dam of seven starters with five ROM, one stakes winner and one stakes-placed runner. The stakes winner is Sweet Game, and the stakes-placed runner is Sweet Meet, runner- up in both the Uranium Downs Derby and the
