        John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2

Jay Number 7 racked up win number six and extended his winning streak to three, proving best in the $130,625 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2 at Albuquerque Downs on Oct. 26.
Ridden by Jose Vega, Jay Number 7 flashed high speed from the 9-post. Sent off as the race favorite, Jay Number 7 broke mid pack, but took the lead at the first call.
The brown gelding dueled through the early stages with Rrelentless, but was never headed and finished a head in front at the wire.
Jay Number 7 prevailed by
a head in a determined effort.

Jay Number 7 covered the
distance in :17.516, earning a 90 speed index.
A homebred for Dustin Cox, Jay Number 7 has now won six of nine starts, including two stakes scores, and has earnings of $185,031.
The gelding qualified to this race in his
out just prior to the Juvenile Challenge Championship in the Will Rogers Downs Juvenile Challenge. In addition to his victo- ries, Jay Number 7 also finished third in the
Remington Park Juvenile Stakes and was fifth in the prestigious Heritage Place Futurity-G1 at Remington Park.
Cox bred Jay Number 7 out of Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge winner First Ginlark. The mare was also a finalist in the Grade 2 AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship. Jay Number 7 is her first starter.
Runner-up Rrelentless just missed in a game effort
under James Flores. Owned by Rrelentless Partners and trained by Gregg Sanders, Rrelentless was bred in Oklahoma by Bill Robbins. The colt won the Ruidoso Downs
Juvenile Challenge-G3 in June. Ridden by Alfredo Triana Jr., Valiant Lota (Lota PYC- Valiant Chic) maintained third throughout for owner Whiting Ranch and trainer R. Hybsha. The filly previously finished second in the Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge. Followed by Rusty Blood GL (Apollitical Blood-Dusty Rusty) in fourth and then
PYC Lovestruck (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Lovethewayyoulie) and Sables Dashin (FDD Dynasty-Painted Sable). Thrill Of The Cartel (Favorite Cartel-License To Thrill) was moved up to sixth after a disqualification and was followed by Pollitical Blood (Apollitical Blood-Rita Tegent), Divas First Moon (First Moonflash-Shake Em Diva) and Sweet Wild Time (One Sweet Jess-Royal Wild Time), who was disqualified from 7th to 10th for interference.
