Burns bred Runforyourlife in California out of multiple stakes winner Remember Me Rose. The mare has produced 12 winners from 15 starters, including 2018 First Down Dash Derby winner Intense Fire, Mexican stakes winner Tessta Rossa, and stakes-placed winners Remember To Dash, The Revenant, and Jabulani.
Dr. Ed Allred’s homebred Circle City (Favorite Cartel-Moonlight Corona) ran second with Oscar Andrade Jr. in the irons. Scott Willoughby trains the gelding, who had won three consecutive races.
A Lucky Ladies Man (Good Reason SA-Hot Lips Perry), owned by Lucky Ladies, finished third under jockey Raul Ramirez Jr. Justin Joiner trains the gelding, who had won once in five prior starts.
