Up would sire the winners of over $9.1 million on the track. His leading money winner was Pass Over with winnings of $527,076. Pass ‘Em Up was sired by Noholme II.
Nava Pass was out of Miss Navasot, who has no show or race record in the AQHA. This mare is the dam of seven foals with
six starters. Her leading money winner was Navasots Racer, a stakes placed runner in the Acadiana Spring Futurity. Navasots Racer earned an AQHA youth ROM with 12 points in barrel racing.
The sire of Miss Navasot was Johnny
Bars. This horse had a racing ROM and a performance ROM. He had a speed index of 100 with eight wins in 12 starts. He earned seven halter and six performance points in the arena. Johnny Bars would sire 35 points earners in the arena earning 668 points with 17 ROM and two Superior performers. His race foals earned 62 ROM with 10 stakes winners. His foals earned $257,530 on the track including his leading money winner Johnny Who.
The sire of Johnny Bars was Sugar Bars. His dam was Figure 8 Miss Bearcat by Leo. This makes Johnny Bars a 3/4-brother
to Flit Bar. It also gives us another cross
to Palomino D O in the pedigree of Firewaterontherocks through Sugar Bars.
The dam of Miss Navasot was Washita Reno and she was the only foal produced by this mare. Washita Reno earned her ROM with 14 cutting points. She was an NCHA money winner. The sire of Washita Reno was Buddy Leo by Leo. The dam of Buddy Leo was Pieface V T, who was sired Billy Van by Cotton Eye Joe by Little Joe. Her dam was a mare by the Thoroughbred Van Dorn. The dam of Washita Reno was Vanesa by Billy
Van. This makes Washita Reno double-bred to Billy Van with a breeding pattern of 3
X 2. The dam of Vanesa was Easy Van by Waggoner. The dam of Easy Van was Miss Easom by Van Dorn. This gives Washita Reno a breeding pattern of 4 X 4 to Van Dorn. Van Dorn was a remount stallion sired by G. W. Johnson by Iroquois, the first American bred winner of the English Derby.
The Foals
Firewaterontherocks sired foals that
have Equi-Stat earnings of $663,476.73
in barrel racing. The AQHA reports that Firewaterontherocks is the sire of 16 horses that have won $103,923.84 in the Barrel Futurities of America. An overwhelming number of Firewaterontherocks foals have performed outside the AQHA, but he does have 12 AQHA performance earners that have earned 90 points. This includes four ROM and one AQHA World Champion in Junior Barrel Racing.
Let’s start with the top five money earners to date and some pedigree information on these foals.
The leading money winner
by Firewaterontherocks is Firewatermakemehappy with earnings of $181,953. The biggest check came as a Future Fortunes Round Champion earning $25,000, as well as a Reserve Championship at the Greg Olson Memorial Futurity.
When we looked at the pedigree of Windy Ryon, we found that his dam Silent Light was double bred to Depth Charge. We find when we look at the pedigree of Firewatermakemehappy that his dam Junior Country Girl was sired by Deep Note Jr by Deep Note by Deep Sun by Depth Charge.
This tie to Depth Charge gives us an interesting blood affinity for this cross. The dam of Junior Country Girl is Jessica Gee by Bugs Alive In 75.
LK Watch Me Rock is the second leading money winner sired by Firewaterontherocks with earnings of $138,736.16. Her futurity record includes a win in the Bar Nothin Barrel Bash, and she is a 2014 NFR qualifier.
LK Watch Me Rock is out of Watch Me Runnin by Lucks Runnin Bug, who is sired by Lucks Chic Gay by What Luck by Bold Ruler. This returns the blood of Bold Ruler to the foal produced. This comes about because Rock N Roll Rona is out of Navas Bolder Girl by Bolder Yet by Master Hand by Bold Ruler. Lucks Runnin Bug is out of Bugs Foxy Lady by Bugs Alive In 75, giving us another good barrel runner with Bugs Alive In 75 in the pedigree.
The next part of this pedigree introduces the blood of Tiny Watch and Gay’s Delight into the mix. The dam of Lucks Chic Gay is Chicks Gay, who is out of Gay’s Delight. The dam of Watch Me Runnin is Misty Watch by Tiny Watch. More on this later.
The third leading money winner is Happy To Run Em with earnings of $87,531.36, She was the 2014 AQHA World Champion Junior Barrel Racing Horse. She is also the winner of shows like the Lance Graves Pro Classic Futurity 4 Year Old and Under.
Lady Rompin is the dam of Happy To Run Em. Lady Rompin is sired by Tiny Tornado by Tiny’s Gay, who was sired by Tiny Watch and out of Gay’s Delight. Here is our second cross to the blood of Tiny’s Gay, his sire Tiny Watch, and his dam Gay’s Delight.
Hip Swingin Gypsy is the fourth leading money winner with earnings of $72,918.76.
Firewatermakemehappy, shown here ridden by Kassie Mowery, is the leading money earner by Firewaterontherocks.
The second leading money earner sired by Firewaterontherocks is LK Watch Me Rock (shown here ridden by Samantha Lyne), who won the Bar Nothin Barrel Bash and was a 2014 NFR qualifier.
