at Portland Meadows on Dec. 17.
The bay gelding stepped into the 8-post as rival
L Bar D Razle Dazle joined the gelding in their individual quests for the multiple stakes winner title. CM Boom Shakalaka broke second from the gate and clasped an early head length lead at the first call. His pace and lead did not change much under Luis Gonzalez, but the pair pulled away comfortably down the stretch. They crossed the wire 1-length ahead of the others for the gelding’s second stakes victory. CM Boom Shakalaka covered the 400-yard fast track in :20.073 and earned a 97 speed index.
CM Boom Shakalaka took the $11,340 winner’s share of the purse for owner Randy Dickerson and trainer Nick Lowe. The gelding’s lifetime total spiked at $34,849. His record includes a win in the Emerald Downs Juvenile Challenge and a fifth in the AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2.
