Jack McReynolds Passes Away
Longtime horseman Jack McReynolds, 86, passed away on Nov. 2. McReynolds grew up on a cattle and horse ranch in West Texas and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the 6666 Ranch, for Briarwood Farms, and as a trainer for 11 years. He and several others started
the horse breeding ranch Oklahoma Stud in 1974, standing such stallions as Double Bid, Tiny Charger, Alamitos Bar, Gold Seeker Bars and Jet Charger. He was instrumental
in starting the Kansas and Texas HBPA to protect horsemen’s interest in the industry, served on the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association Board of Directors,
and was a lifetime member of the AQHA. McReynolds was a roper on the rodeo circuit, was one of the original Marlboro Men in a TV commercial, and enjoyed being outdoors, working with leather, and writing poetry. He and his wife Marilyn were inducted into the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2014. McReynolds is survived by his wife,
2 children, and many other family members and friends.
Myrna Rheudasil Passes Away

Six, XO Kate, and
Flashback Dash.
Myrna was also part
of a group who was instrumental in bringing pari-mutuel betting to Texas and the estab- lishment of Lone Star Park. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, a prominent horseman and veterinarian who bred and raced All American Futurity-G1 winner On A High as well as Champion Yankee Win. Myrna is survived by many family members and friends.
John Lionel Soileau Sr. Passes Away

was a lifetime mem-
ber of the American
Quarter Horse
Association and the Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association. He was the breeder/ owner 2010 Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding JLS Mr Bigtime. Soileau was awarded the 2009 LQHBA Lifetime Achievement Award, 2010 and 2014 LQHBA Breeder of the Year award, and 2016 Hall of Fame owner. He is survived by his wife, Bernadine, three sons, a daughter and many other family members and friends.
John Sperry Passes Away
Quarter Horse owner/breeder and former California Horse Racing Board member John Sperry passed away on Dec. 7 at the age of
81. Sperry owned race horses for more than 35 years, including his biggest star in Grade
1 winner Jess Good Reason. His other top runners included Champion sire Stel Corona, Inthetwinkleofaneye, and Carlos Treasure. Since 1990, Sperry’s Quarter Horses have won 97 races and earned over $1.6 million. John is survived by his sons Michael and Ron, granddaughter Kaitie, and many other family members and friends.
Mr Jess Perry Dies
Two-time Champion and the #3 all-time leading sire of money earners, Mr Jess Perry was laid to rest Nov. 15 after a battle with laminitis. At the time of his passing, the 1992 stallion had sired the earners of nearly $53 million, with over $2.1 million in 2017 alone. His leading money earning son, World Champion Apollitical Jess ($1,399,831), is currently the leading sire of 2017 money earners. Mr Jess Perry is the sire of 9 Champions and the broodmare sire of another 9 Champions. Mr Jess Perry earned $687,184, winning the Texas Classic Futurity-G1, Texas Classic Derby-G1, LQHBA Futurity-RG1, Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile-RG2, and LQHBA Laddie Futurity-RG3.

Meet, Declares Leaders
Lone Star Park on Nov. 11 concluded its 20th Fall Quarter Horse season with gains in attendance and on-track live handle, and the 26-day meet paid over $3.5 million in purses. Paragon Farms LLC was the leading owner of the meet with seven wins from 18 starts and $132,084 in earnings, Trey Wood earned his sixth training title with 21 wins from 101 starts and earnings of $289,403, and Ricky Ramirez took his seventh Lone Star Park riding title with 27 wins from 84 starts and earnings of $242,345.

Ima Fearless Hero Dies
2015 Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding Ima Fearless Hero passed away following compli- cations with ringbone. The 4-year-old won eight of 17 starts, including the Los Alamitos Two Million, and earned $1,062,435 while racing exclusively at Los Alamitos. “He
was quite a horse and always ran with a lot of heart,” said Don Meneely, who with his wife Kathy and their son Shawn operate S-Quarter K LLC, owner/breeder of Ima Fearless Hero.
