Cartel stallion Pyc Paint Your Wagon. Wagon On Turnpike has produced four winners from as many starters, including Turnpike Judy, a half sister to Livewires Turnpike who ran third in Smithworks’ 2021 Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Remington Park.
Livewires Turnpike’s second dam, the homebred winning Texas Hero mare Turnpikes Texas Hero, foaled six winners from eight starters, including Paint Me Turnpike, a full brother to Wagon On Turnpike and winner
of the 2016 Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, and two stakes-placed half siblings to Wagon On Turnpike, including Turnpike Country, a son of Country Quick Dash who ran third in the 2011 Pot O’ Gold Futurity-G1 at Will Rogers Downs.
Livewires Turnpike traces back to his fourth dam, Turnpike’s Jet, a homebred multiple stakes winning daughter of 1969 AQHA World Champion Easy Jet.
Campaigned in Oklahoma and Texas, Livewires Turnpike has won eight of 11 races -- including four of five at the 350-yard
trip and four of seven at Remington Park
-- and he has banked $147,702. Of his total earnings, $126,918 was pocketed during a juvenile season in which he won two graded futurities, including the $83,700 Pot O’ Gold Futurity-G1 at Will Rogers Downs on Oct. 3 as the fastest qualifier.
Livewires Turnpike returned a $2.40 win mutuel.
Zbars Livewire FS (CRM Livewire-Zbar Miss Bully), a 26-1 longshot, finished second while banking $6,928 for his owner Fred Ballard. Cody Wainscott rode the brown homebred colt for trainer Kasey Willis. Last year, he won the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Championship Futurity-G1.
Salt Wire (CRM Livewire- Fantastic Follies) was stretching out in distance off of his third- place finish in a 250-yard $23,000 open-condition allowance dash
at Remington Park on March 10. The gelding earned $3,811 for finishing third, a nose behind
the runner-up, in the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Stakes. Jockey Alonso Rivera rode the bay gelding for owner Russell M. Trull and trainer Kasey Willis.
The Big Chief (CRM Livewire-No Pokey Okey). BF Hannas Wagon (Lil Kool Wagon- Hannas Treasure), WL You Aint No Cowboy (Painted Turnpike- Texas Fourwinds), El Toriona (Lil Kool Wagon-Friona) RP Barracuda Dash (Barracuda-RP Miranda Dash), and OP Royal Nitro (CRM Livewire-OP Rebbecca) completed the order
of finish.
