SHAKERS NO SECRET

hakers No Secret showed a flair for the dramatic
in the West Texas Maturity-G3, outdueling Valiant Charm to win the $104,237 stakes held March 25 at Sunland Park.
Abel Lopez, Ethan Lopez and Manny Dutchover own Shakers No Secret, a three-year-old gray gelding who scored the first stakes win and fifth overall victory of his career in what marked his 11th out. The $48,992 prize nearly doubled his prior bankroll to a new total of $106,584.
Shakers No Secret finished second to Valiant Charm, who ended up atop the qualifying ladder, in the Maturity trials but proved to be the quickest in this stakes final. The two horses dueled for the lead throughout the 400 yards. Shakers No Secret led by a 1/2-length going into the stretch, then withstood a challenge by Valiant Charm to reach the wire first by a neck.
Marc Jungers trains Shakers No Secret, who finished the race in :19.042, logging a 113 speed index. Jockey Christian Ramos, who rode four starters to victory on the March 25 card at Sunland, was aboard.
Garlyn O. Shelton bred Shakers No Secret out of Shaker Secret, a 2013 mare whom Shelton also owns.
Valiant Charm (Valiant Hero-Charmin Chief Corona) finished 1 1/4-lengths clear in second place. The gelding is owned and trained by Juan Esquivel amd Emilio Tapia was in the irons.
Mitey Political (Apollitical Jess-Mitey Moon) took third by a head for Charles and Dixie Patterson. The Donna McArthur trainee had Gerardo Vera aboard.
The remaining order of finish was Mahomes (Hes Relentless-Mai Corona), Dr Tool (Kiss My Hocks- Where Eagles Soar), Gym N Jam (Jess Good Candy- None As Easy), Bregman (FDD Dynasty-Astica), Sassy Harmony (Jess Good Candy-Sassy Corona),
B The One (Five Bar Cartel-KT Perry) and Mighty Revenant (A Revenant-Mightys First Call).

ir Lady Moon avenged her loss to Koalition
in the Jan. 1 Dashingly Handicap when the two met again in the March 4 Denim N Diamonds Handicap-RG3. both run at Los Alamitos.
Koalition went off as the even-money favorite, with Cir Lady Moon the 2-1 second choice. Letty Cartel broke on top from the outside, but Cir Lady Moon surged forward to take the lead just to her inside as they reached the finish line. Though Koalition ran well from the inside post, Cir Lady Moon held off the others to score by a head in :17.576 for 350 yards.
Monty Arrossa trains Cir Lady Moon for owners Daniel and Carol Lee. The 5-year-old mare became a stakes winner when she captured the 2022 Isaws Sugar Bear Stakes at Sweetwater Downs. Cir Lady Moon now has six wins from 14 starts and her earnings stand at $52,000 with the $19,250 winners share of this race.
The Gary Robison Estate bred Cir Lady Moon in Utah out of the Robison-bred mare Cir Mark Of A Queen. Second in the 2014 Wyoming Downs Futurity, Cir Mark Of A Queen has produced
just the one starter. The second dam, also bred by Robison, is stakes winner Cir Queen Of Style.
EG High Desert Farm’s homebred Letty Cartel (Fast Prize Cartel-Letty Bail Regis Out) finished second. Cruz Mendez rode the 4-year-old filly for trainer Santos Perez. Letty Cartel also ran second in the 2022 Go Josie Go Handicap.
Bobby Cox’s homebred Koalition (Apollitical Jess-Nellie Delaney) ran third for jockey Jose Nicasio and trainer Heath Taylor. Koalition was coming off her victory in the Dashingly Handicap.
Followed by All Prettied Up (Favorite Cartel- Pretty Jet High), Ms Ko (Corona Cartel-Whatta Knockout), Crystal Prize (Fast Prize Cartel-Walk Thru Crystal), Up To Good (Kiddy Up-Better Be Good), and Hitters Count (Kiddy Up-What A Hit).

hen John Cooper retired from training at
the end of 2022, he recommended that
Sergio Morfin, the leading Los Alamitos nighttime Thoroughbred trainer and a longtime former Cooper assistant, take over training for owner Jeryl Hartley. As a result, Morfin got his first Quarter Horse stakes victory when Hartley’s Forever Dynasty won the March 11 Queen For Cash Handicap.
Breaking from the outside for jockey Irvina Lara, the gray Forever Dynasty battled early in the 330 yards with Remember Her. Forever Dynasty soon dominated, however, ultimately scoring by 3/4-lengths in :16.775.
Forever Dynasty was making her stakes debut. Under Cooper’s care last year, she broke her maiden and won an allowance race in six starts. She ran second and third in two allowance races for Morfin this year prior to the Queen For Cash Handicap.
Hartley’s late husband, Ron, bred Forever Dynasty in California from Forgotten Dynasty, who finished third in the 2014 Denim N Diamonds Handicap
for the Hartleys when trained by Cooper. Forgotten Dynasty has produced three starters, all winners, including Victorioso Dinastia, who finished second in the 2020 Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1 and third in the 2021 Denim N Diamonds.
Dr. Ed Allred’s homebred Remember Her (Kiddy Up-Remembering Florence) ran second for jockey Jesus Ayala. Scott Willoughby trains the filly, who was third in the 2022 Holiday Handicap.
Erasmo Gasca piloted Jess Dynasty B (FDD Dynasty-Jess B Mighty) to third for trainer Jose Flores and owner Johnny Trotter. Jess Dynasty B has won two of nine previous races.
Completing the field were Feldzpar (Moonin The Eagle-Nellie Delaney), Kiss A Lou Blue (Jess Louisiana Blue-Kiss A Kardashian), and Take Flight (Seperate Interest-Girls Can Fly).
