“I always look at them as a race prospect and my claim to fame is running good horses and she was such a good prospect. As you know, some work for you and some don’t, and I knew at the time that if she didn’t work, she would
be an excellent broodmare prospect because
of her pedigree and she has turned out to be a phenomenal broodmare,” concluded Helzer about his race prospect turned broodmare.
Tinys Corona Queen didn’t live up to race expectations, but that is the luxury with a mare as she can become a broodmare. So, Helzer’s good prospect retired from the racetrack to produce her first foal in 2010 - an unraced filly named Awalkin Talkin Angel by Mighty Invictus.
Her next three foals came in 2011 when she produced Mafoosa by Foose, Its Not Perfect
by Vrrroom, and Anchored In by Okey Dokey Fantasy. These three runners earned their ROM, with Mafoosa qualifying to the 2013 North Central QHRA Futurity where she ran fifth.
The 2012 foals of Tinys Corona Queen were Elective and Cant Contain Her, both sired by Inseperable; Rattle N Battle and Apollitical Man, both sired by Apollitical Jess; and Seal The Track by Dance Master TB. All five earned their racing ROM’s. Elective was a finalist in the 2014 Hipodromo Juvenile Championship, and Cant Contain Her was a finalist in the 2014 Bitterroot Juvenile.
Rattle N Battle and Apollitical Man were the first foals out of Tinys Corona Queen to earn black type, and they represented a sign of things to come. Rattle N Battle earned $129,037 as
a stakes finalist in eight events with her black type coming with a second in the 2016 James Isaac Hobbs Stakes-G2. Apollitical Man earned $143,406 with back-to-back stakes wins in the 2016 and 2017 OQHRA Fall Classic Stakes. He also won the 2017 Indiana Championship and the 2017 SLM Big Daddy Stakes.
The 2013 foals out of Tinys Corona Queen are: Just Like Blaine by Apollitical Jess, who earned his ROM with two wins in ten starts and earnings of $24,985; and Hardtoget by Foose, who was a stakes winner in the 2017 Jerry Jaggers Memorial Stakes and was also second in the 2018 Juno’s Request Stakes and in the 2017 Miss Ellen stakes and fifth in the 2018 Miss Ellen Stakes. Holding Out by Euroears TB was the only foal produced by Tinys Corona Queen in 2014. This filly was unplaced in two starts in 2016.
First Of 15, by Apollitical Jess, was foaled
in 2015 for Tinys Corona Queen. First Of 15
is a multiple stakes placed runner and a stakes winner in the 2018 Gopher State Derby. This filly has earned $152,714 and is in the thick of things for 2019, already earning a second in this year’s Decketta Stakes-G3. No Questions Now 15 is the second foal for Tinys Corona Queen for 2015 and he is by Inseperable. This colt
