Treme Stakes
JES A FAST DASHER
by John Moorehouse
Jes A Fast Dasher prevailed in a thrilling close finish in the $50,000 Treme Stakes on Aug. 16 at Fair Grounds Race Course, getting to the wire first by a neck to collect the third stakes victory of his career. A three-year-old gelding, Jes A Fast Dasher now has been to the winner’s circle seven times in 10 lifetime starts. He’s undefeated in three outs thus
far in 2015, a win streak that also included the Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Derby-RG3.
Jes A Fast Dasher did hold a 1/2-length lead going into the stretch, but Heza Louisiana Dash and Dashacrossyourmind both made late bids.
Kenneth Roberts Sr. trains Jes A Fast Dasher, who covered the 350 yards in :17.597 and registered a 92 speed index. Lucas Constantin was in the irons for a trip completed in showers and against a 5 mph headwind. Tony Doughtie owns and bred Jes A Fast Dasher, and banked a $30,000 payday that pushed the geld- ing’s total earnings over the $400,000 milestone to $407,872. Doughtie also owns Jes A Game, the dam of Jes A Fast Dasher and a decorated competitor herself. The mare recorded 6 stakes wins during her racing career that produced nearly $325,000 in prize money. Jes A Game has 16 foals, 12 of whom have made starts. Jes A Fast Dasher is the only stakes winner in the brood. Roberts also trains Heza Louisiana Dash (Heza Fast Dash-Eyejesslovelouisiana), who was 2nd under Gilbert Ortiz for TM Ranch. Dashacrossyourmind (Heza Fast Dash-Doievercrossyourmind) took 3rd under Donald Watson for owners Brock Broussard & Jacque Bourque

Audubon Stakes
TF EYES R STRUTTIN
by John Moorehouse
Abanner 2015 season continued for TF Eyes
R Struttin on Aug. 16 at Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans, as the filly made a wire-to- wire run to victory in the $50,000 Audubon Stakes.
Louis Johnson Jr. owns TF Eyes R Struttin, who has been fantastic during her 4-year-old campaign. Half of the filly’s 8 lifetime wins have come this year, includ- ing both her victories in stakes company. She also has tallied 1 runner-up finish and a pair of 3rd-place efforts in stakes races this year, and set the 300-yard track record at Louisiana Downs in March in an allowance.
The $30,000 payday from the Audubon pushed her lifetime earnings to $160,335, with nearly $100,000 of that coming so far this year.
TF Eyes R Struttin never relinquished the lead, but never enjoyed a significant advantage either; she never led by more than a neck over the entirety of the 350 yards. Lanny Keith trains TF Eyes R Struttin, who finished the race in :17.623 to register a 91 speed index. Raul Ramirez Jr. drew the riding assignment aboard TF Eyes R Struttin, who was the betting favorite at post time, going off at 3-2 odds.
Steve Tate bred TF Eyes R Struttin and owns her dam, stakes placed Eyes R Special. TF Eyes R Struttin is the mare’s first blacktype runner from 4 starters.
Keith also trains Bipty Dash (Heza Fast Dash- Bipity Jazz TB), who was 2nd under Alfonso Lujan for owners Ivan Alford & Marty Long. Embrujo Star (Embrujo FG-Allas Toast) was 3rd under Saul Ramirez Jr. for Hubert Vestal & trainer Trey Ellis. Followed by Allizoom (First Prize Perry-Lett Her Zoom), Wheres Mom (Heza Fast Dash-Jess Ready Too Wear), Bellas Leaving You (Coronas Leaving You-Now Goretha), Little Blue Dove (Jess Lousiana Blue-Hurried Connection), Camerons Game (Game Patriot-Shes Lils FG), Sheza Fast Beach (Heza Fast Dash-Natalieonthebeach) & Miss Runaway Dash (Sir Runaway Dash-Miss Mallard Too).
RMQHA Champ. Bonus Chal.
A SPRING SNOW
by Michael Compton
At age 10, A Spring Snow hasn’t lost a step. Zachary Quezada’s veteran of 57 starts dis- patched six younger rivals in the $19,700 RMQHA Championship Bonus Challenge Stakes at Arapahoe Park on Aug. 9 to record his 15th lifetime victory and third stakes score.
With Agustin Silva riding for Quezada, A Spring Snow grabbed the lead by the first call. He opened
a clear advantage in the lane and drew away to a 1-length win in a driving finish. Sent off as the 3-1 second choice in the compact field, A Spring Snow traveled 400 yards over a fast track in :19.731, earn- ing a speed index of 94.
The $11,820 winner’s share of the purse increased A Spring Snow’s coffers to $298,538. His remarkable tab now stands at 57-15-9-6.
A graded stakes winner and multiple graded stakes-placed warrior, A Spring Snow was bred in Texas by Gordon and Lynn Nees. He is produced from the stakes-placed mare Lexines Legacy, who is the dam of three winners from seven starters. A Spring Snow is her lone stakes horse.
Im Beau Brown (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Special Smoothie), ridden by Ramiro Garcia, chased the winner across the wire. The five-year-old gelding races for owner Desiderio Nava and is conditioned by Gustavo Rios.
Nifty Fury (Furyofthewind-Iza Flyin Eye) and jockey Juan Pulido raced in contention throughout but had to settle for third as the race favorite. A win- ner of two straight heading into the contest, Nifty Fury is owned by Margarito Montalvo and is trained by Chris Gandarilla.
Built Tuff Enough (Mighty Invictus- Inomuff-TB), Shawnee Kid (Toast to Dash-Paratus), All Guns Firing (FDD Dynasty-Trista Boom Boom) and Stel Surprise (Stel Corona-Making Surprise) completed the order of finish.
