                 Adequan GPR Derby Challenge
O SEEYALATER

After a stumbled start, O Seeyalater breezed down a fast track to earn a speed index of 106 and the win in the $34,978 Adequan Evergreen Park Derby Challenge at Grande Prairie on July 23.
Under jockey Larris Allen, the filly was never headed and covered the 400 yards with a time of :19.930, good for a 106 speed index.
The filly brought home $17,489 for owner Jeffery R W Rath, now holding career earnings of $55,932. The Oklahoma-bred filly is bred and trained by Wesley Oulton and is out of stakes placed mare Howdoyado, by Pappasito.
O Seeyalater has finished in the money 8 of 14 career starts and she won the Alberta Stallion Stakes Futurity at Century Mile last July. The filly is currently the leading progeny for sire First Timber for the 2023 racing season.
Noble Rearing (Favorite Cartel-Sweet TR) and jockey J. Botello were second. The colt is owned by Jerry Stojan and Kevin Lyons and is trained by William Leech. Noble Rearing won the Canada Cup Futurity at Century Mile last October and has finished in the money in every out of his career.
Under jockey Alan Rizo, Professor Gee (Fly Thru The Fire-Bemused) gave a good effort for third place, 4-lengths ahead of the rest of the field. He is owned by Jerry Stojan and Kevin Lyons and trained by William Leech. The gelding is graded stakes placed and won the All Canadian Derby at Century Mile on June 10.
Eyemadashin (Dashin By All-Red Eye Jess) finished fourth and was followed by Springeleer (Duponte-First Sassy Timber), Northfork Boss (JD Wagon Boss-Northfork Boss) was deemed by the stewards to have an unfair start and recieved a refund. There was a timer malfunction and the race was hand timed.

PRETTY SWEET JESS

n a 14 to 1 upset, Pretty Sweet Jess scored the
first win of her career in the $42,514 Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge Stakes at Grande Prairie
on July 23. After breaking in at the start, the filly swept the 350 yards on dirt in :18.437. Under jockey Alan Rizo, she crossed the wire by 3/4 lengths and finished with a speed index of 83.
Celebrating in the win, owners Kevin Lyons and Jerry Stojan, along with trainer William Leech, shared in the filly’s race earnings of $20,942.
Pretty Sweet Jess was bred by Veronica Gail Kawananakoa out of Pretty Lethal, by multiple graded stakes sire First Down Dash.
Seated by jockey D Benitez, Miss Fancy Nancy (Big Lew-Singles Cruise) held place down the stretch and over the wire to finish in second by a head. She is owned by Barry and Janice Sather and trained by Misael Moreno.
Get It Good (Jd Wagon Boss-Status Symbal) and jockey Miguel Lopez were outfinished for second but placed by a neck. The gelding is owned by WT Ranches Ltd. and trained by Buckey Stockwell. He has finished in the money every out this season.
Coming in fourth, Fired (Fly Thru the Fire- Ruths Chris) and jockey J. Botello gave good effort. The gelding is owned by Jerry Stojan and Kevin Lyons and is trained by William Leech. He placed in the money both of his prior starts this season.
Bitterroots Wagon (Jd Wagon Boss-Bitterroot Corona) and jockey Alexander Marti broke in the start and were the best of the remainder of the field. The gelding is owned by Glenn Wills and owned and trained by Buckey Stockwell. He won the Sale Stakes Futurity at Century Mile on June 24.
A Buckey Dasher (Jd Wagon Boss-Miss Dashing Vana) was never a threat and Timbers Beauty (First Timber-Burners Beauty) was outrun throughout the race.

ent to post as the 7-5 favorite in a field of nine
distaffers, Cindy Fehr’s Jessaprimadonna won the $16,813 Century Mile Princess Stakes on June 30. Jessaprimadonna covered 350 yards in a track-
record :17.623, and her margin of victory was a neck from O Seeyalater. D.I. Benitez rode the 5-year-old daughter of the Mr Jess Perry stallion One Sweet Jess for trainer Misael Moreno.
Jessaprimadonna was stretching out in distance off of her 1/2-length win in the 300-yard Old Timers Classic at Century Mile on May 12. The sorrel mare was bred in Louisiana by Leroy Janacek Jr., and she
is out of Favorite Primadonna. Her second dam, the Racin Free mare Miss Racy Vike, won four graded stakes in three states from 1989-92, including the 1991 Remington Park Championship-G1, and she produced three graded stakes winners, all of whom are 1/2-siblings to Favorite Primadonna, including Champions Miss Racy Jess and One Sweet Racy.
Campaigned in the U.S. and Canada, Jessaprimadonna has won eight of 25 races, and the $8,718 winner’s share of the purse from her third career stakes score increased her earnings to $81,513. The mare was a finalist in the 2020 Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity-RG2 at Delta Downs.
O Seeyalater (First Timber-Howdoyado) was 2nd for owner Jeffrey R.W. Rath, rider Daniel Alejandro Garcia and trainer Wesley Oulton. Naughtee Or Nice (TF Im That Guy-Illthinkaboutit) was 3rd for jockey Martin Ortiz and owner/trainer Tom Kenway.
Followed by She Wears The Pantz (Seperate Interest-Skinny Jeans), Kari L Cartel (Corona Cartel-For Your First Lady), Scarletts Cartel (Carters Cartel-Scarlett Jewel), Firelicious (Walk Thru Fire- Zoomilicious), Decider Cartel Queen (Decider-Teller Reba) was disqualfied from 4th to 8th, and Tulsa Timber (First Timber-Mars Move) was disqualified from 5th to last.
