Supporting Vibrant Urban Life: Central to our vision is the
promotion of a dynamic and inclusive urban environment that
fosters social interaction, economic vitality, and cultural
vibrancy. This entails creating pedestrian-friendly streetscapes,
vibrant public squares, and accessible public transportation
networks that encourage active engagement and connectivity
among residents and visitors. By prioritizing accessibility,
functionality, and aesthetics, we aim to enhance the overall
experience of navigating and inhabiting public spaces within the
District.

Realizing Design Excellence and Innovation: Our commitment to
design excellence and innovation extends across all facets of
the built environment, including architecture, infrastructure,
and public spaces. We aspire to elevate the human experience by
integrating cutting-edge design principles, sustainable
technologies, and creative placemaking strategies that enhance
the functionality, resilience, and aesthetic appeal of the District.
By fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, we seek
to create environments that inspire, delight, and enrich the lives
of those who inhabit and interact with them.

           Strategies and implementation

The implementation of this project plan involved various
measures. These included shaping a shared civic identity, building
upon Washington, DC's historic plan, enhancing the national
image, reinforcing L’Enfant’s 1791 plan for the city of
Washington and Olmsted highway plans, establishing preeminent
view corridors, as well as determining the siting and design of
monuments and memorials, among many other procedures.
