                                                                                      ž The first definitive sonographic sign of an intrauterine pregnancy is identification of the gestational sac within the decidualized endometrium.
ž The blastocyst is the developmental stage of the conceptus that implants into the uterine cavity.
ž The blastocyst gives rise to the gestational sac, or chorionic sac.
ž The early gestational sac appears as a small, anechoic sphere within the decidualized endometrium.
