The decidual reaction of the endometrium is essentially the first sonographically identifiable sign of a pregnancy.
¡ In essence, the endometrium is preparing itself for the implantation of the conceptus.
The decidualized endometrium will appear thick and echogenic as a result of the continued production of progesterone by the corpus luteum.
