• The challenges which are quite widespread touch all sections of the society. Though efforts are made by the government and various
development partners to address these issues, little improvement is noted. Fifty percent of the participants clearly stated that the poor
people are the most disadvantaged and excluded group whilst the others stated the youths, elderly, and children.
• To address the development challenges mentioned above; it is necessary to include more capacity building initiatives for implementers in
various sectors of development, especially those in the informal sector.
HEALTH
Access to health care service is the most outstanding achievement of the health sector. There is a health post in every
community, the number of health personnel has equally increased. However, the health care delivery service has been faced with
enormous challenges as stated by the participants, these include:
• The lack of drugs in the health facilities.
• High cost of health service.
• Poor working conditions of health personnel
• Some unprofessional health personnel- they listed the behavior of the health personnel, health personnel in public health centers engage in
the provision of private health care service delivery.
• The lack of equipment.
• Participants say the impact has been the increase in the cases of non-communicable diseases, increase in mortality rate especially maternal
mortality, some participants also say the increased poverty status of people is as a result of the challenges the health sector is experiencing,
since referrals are usually made to private health facilities which are more expensive.
• All the participants stressed the need for the next development plan to supply more medications, capacity building and the establishment of
a monitoring system to address the vices in the health sector.
