Report on the Common Country Analysis: Community Consultations Focus Group Discussions
(FGD)
Date of FGD: 15TH October 2020
This report summarizes the key finding of the focus group discussions conducted with six returnees, four males and two females.
These returnees termed as FGD participants all originate from different communities within the West Coast Region (WCR).
1.0 INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
OVERALL DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGES
• The participants highlighted at least two critical development challenges existing in their communities. Most participants mentioned
unemployability and lack of quality education, one-third of the participants reiterated the lack of livelihood as the greatest challenge.
“Livelihood enables someone to be able to access all other development, so we cannot say development without having livelihood”.
Participants also pointed out; poor health service delivery, lack of good road networks leading to and within the community, most of the
major roads are deteriorated. All the participants pointed that they have electricity in their communities but were quick to state that the
electricity supply is sporadic “we go days without electricity”.
