In closing, both Mr. Marenah and Ms. De noted that the workshop was happening at a unique time in the history of The Gambia,
with a lot of expectation placed on the Government by the population. Mr Marenah said that he remained optimistic about political and
legal developments in The Gambia, whilst thanking the UN system for their contribution and support to the development of The Gambia.
He said that the participatory process of the CCA would ensure that the real development needs of the country would be captured, and
therefore, it is hoped that the next cooperation cycle would be more fruitful and responsive to the needs of The Gambia.
Ms. De thanked the Ministry of Justice for the collaboration and for its sincere reflections and substantial contributions to the
CCA process. She emphasized that analysis on governance structures and issues, an integrated approach ought to be taken with
governance affecting every dimension of development.
