What has the Region accomplished in its entirety?
Our Second Career/Retired Senior Volunteer Sorors throughout the Midwest Region continue to
demonstrate their mission of service through many of our local and National program initiatives.
During chapter meetings, the senior members from Beta Mu have shared their goals and activities
with the members. As well as senior members are volunteering in hospitals as greeters, and at non-
profit food pantries. In addition, senior members have helped to raise funds for the needy and
distribute blankets to the homeless. Mu Chapter seniors volunteered and wrapped gifts for the
Children and Adult program. Chi chapter senior members were influential with organizing the Red
Hop Sock Drop event. Many of our senior members have returned to their local school systems where
they are tutoring children with reading and math skills, providing support to newly appointed
administrators, and Alpha Alpha chapter senior member administered the state mandated test at an
elementary school. Several Gamma Delta senior members are active members of MARSP (Michigan
Association of Retired School Personnel) one is a member of Genesee Lifelong Educators
Association. All these organization provide information regarding current issues and trends that effect
our member retirees.
