CBBQA PRESIDENT’S CORNER
Happy New Year Members,
To get things started, I’d like to welcome the new members of the board of directors - Scott Simpson, Craig Yeszin, Kevin Barteaux, and Thomas Gearhart. Sylvie, Kyle, Jerry, and I have stayed on to provide continuity as we move into this new decade.
Congrats to Big Poppa Smokers on their GC and Shig Ninja BBQ on their RGC at the Arizona National BBQ Stampede held on Saturday, December 28th.
Our first CBBQA ToY contest will be Slab-O-Rama on January 18th in Bullhead City, AZ. This will be followed by our very own Golden State Battle II on January 25th, in Hollister, CA at the Casa de Fruta RV Resort. We will host our annual award ceremony, also at Casa de Fruta, on January 24th at 6:00 p.m. If you would like to participate in our epicurean potluck please sign-up at the following link https://www.signupge...AA29A1FD0-cbbqa
I have recruited Scott Sanchez, Steven Biggs, and Bryan Davis to spearhead our new CBBQA mar- keting initiative. Details regarding this program will be forthcoming on both the forum and in our newsletters.
The January 11th BBQ class in Livermore is sold out! We are very excited to see our classes selling out so quickly. There is a CBBQA competition class scheduled for March 13th at the Lodi Grape Festival Grounds; cost is $300 per person or $450 with your spouse. On April 11th we will host an- other BBQ class at the Woodshed in Orange. If time permits, we’d love to have you sign up to volunteer to help with the classes, it is much ap- preciated.
Take care and I hope to see you in Casa de Fruta in a few weeks.
FEBRUARY 2020
Cheers, Stephen
