Description of Work and Location
Work Operations
Demolition of existing structures using rough terrain machines, all structures to be free from live services prior to works. Period of works normally takes maximum 5 days. Risk level moderate if site requests have been adhered to by client. To reduce overall risk areas should be kept clear of public & traffic and machines will operate at all times with at least one banksman. Providing above is adhered to the public will not be in danger during these works both due to the location of the works and precautions the company has taken.
Majority of works involve the removal and transportation of loose and fixed objects from locations both on and outside the site. Machine operators are trained and competent having undergone internal and external testing on a regular basis in accordance with the Plant Operators procedures. Majority of the works involve machine operation and limited manual handling, where manual handling is to take place operatives are to perform this in accordance with the company Manual Handling policy. Works will take place in open spaces and where necessary areas will be restricted from public use or risk or danger to third parties outside of the companies control. Fall protection is not required due to the height which machines will unload and load materials. Rough terrain forklifts will be used to move materials. S3k Limited will undertake all operations concerning the machinery as well as required checklists concerning the company policies
Scaffolding / towers and other access equipment will not be used by the company Access will be via ground only and operatives will be situated within the confinements of the machine unless carrying out the banksmen duties. Signage will be used solely on the basis that the site is unable to be kept clear of moving vehicles or pedestrians. At all other times the site in general being primarily agricultural is open space and clear of risk to others. Any excavations will be kept covered or fenced prior to leaving the site.
A manager from the company will supervise at all times the operatives and machinery and ensure that tasks are being conducted in line with the companies policies
All requirements made by the company to the client must be adhered to so that the company H&S polices are upheld. The company will not be responsible for the clients employees and the client must ensure that all employees adhere to the site conditions & requirements.
The company will not be storing any materials The company will utilise the equipment provided by the client at all times, all surplus materials / waste will be disposed of via the clients waste policy guidelines via internal measures Should materials have to be moved around site they will be done so via the clients equipment
Works will be monitored at all times by the company manager on site, said manager to be appointed and details of the appointment recorded by the Managing Director.
Machine operators will all carry the required licences / tickets to operate any machines that are used. The company undertakes to ensure that operatives are full trained
