G. Obtain the tabular F value from the Appendix E, Statistical
Procedure for Agricultural Research by Gomez and Gomez with f1 =
treatment df and f2= error df.
H. Enter all values computed from steps C to G in the outline of ANOVA
constructed in B.
I. Compare the computed F value of step F with the tabular value of F
in G, and decide on the significance of the difference among
treatments using the following rules:
If F computed value is greater than F value at 1% level of
significance, treatment difference is said to be highly significant.
If F computed value is greater than F value at 5% level of
significance, but lower than 1%, treatment difference is said to be
significant.
If F computed value is lower than F value at 5% level of significance
and lower at 1%level of significance, treatment difference is said to
be non significant.
J. Compute the mean difference between the control treatments each
of the six insecticide treatments.
K. Calculate the coefficient of variation.
___________
CV = √ ___ EMS___ x 100
Grand Mean
L. Compute the Least Significance Difference value at μ level of
significance as:
M. Post Analysis if the result is significant or highly significant.
N. Use Least Significant Difference if we compare other treatments to
control.
________
LSD = t μ √ 2 EMS
r
Where:
t μ = the value of t at a certain level of significance.
