Student SIG Report Marka Gehrig Salsberry, PT, DPT - Chair
After wrapping up another successful year of student initiatives, the Student SIG is busy working on new objectives including advancing student involvement and integration in the OPTA . We have some new and exciting changes coming this year to some of the iconic SSIG activities and events . Stay tuned to the SSIG website found under the “Students” tab on the OPTA website for more information .
The annual Student Challenge was held in April at the OPTA Annual Conference . This lively, Jeopardy style competition was comprised of PT and PTA schools across the state . Congratulations to Ohio University as they took home the trophy this year for the 2018 Student Challenge . A special thank you to Kathryn Nemann from the University of Cincinnati and her committee for their hard work in organizing this event .
Before sharing our newly elected SSIG board of directors, I would like to acknowledge and thank the outgoing SSIG board for their hard work
and dedication to the OPTA, the SSIG and SSIG members throughout the state . This group of ambitious students have made great strides in increasing student involvement in the APTA/OPTA . We wish our graduating student leaders continued success in their new careers as PTs and PTAs . We hope they will continue their involvement in the OPTA and are eager to see how they contribute the association and the PT profession . On behalf of the OPTA, thank you for your valued dedication .
