P. 35

Hi Everyone! With a new year comes an opportunity for new goals, renewed energy, and renewed passion . In the Central District, we hope to bring all three to the table in 2020 . In 2019, we asked for your feedback on a membership needs survey . Based on that feedback, our programming and events will have three primary focuses: networking, continuing education, and community service . This what you as members told us were valuable and important to you in a professional organization, and we have worked out best to meet those needs for you .
In February, we hosted a Speed Networking event designed to help those who attended to meet others
in the profession that they might not have otherwise .
In the summer, we are working to join with the OU DPT department in volunteering at a Habitat for Humanity house for a family in the local Athens community . In the fall, we will be hosting an Early Professionals panel, with individuals from the OPTA community who have valuable advice and experience to share to those beginning their careers as physical therapists and physical therapist assistants . We hope that these events, along with others, will provide you with the opportunity to learn, grow, and find value in your professional organization.
