Northwest District Report Cindy Bouillon, PT, MPT, PhD - Chair
The Northwest District offered two continuing education events in April and May . On Apr . 30, Dr . Cody Mansfield spoke to approximately 40 participants at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. His presentation was titled, “What’s the “Point” of Dry Needling?” He shared his perspectives on how dry needling affects muscle force production and is able to mitigate pain .
 Our last continuing education series event was held on May 21 at Flower Hospital . Dr . Roger Kruse presented on the topic of regenerative medicine and how these techniques apply to physical therapy . He shared the current evidence on regenerative medicine and discussed patient cases related to hip and knee osteoarthritis .
Dr . Richard Fernandez has agreed to serve
as chairperson for our Continuing Education Committee and is working on the 2019-2020
schedule . He also revitalized our Facebook
page, Northwest District Ohio Physical
Therapy Network: https://www.facebook.com/ groups/182106112354847/ . Thank you, Richard
for providing the pics! Dr . Michelle Masterson has agreed to serve as chair for our PAC Committee and is in the planning stages for an event in the fall; stay tuned for more information .
Dr . Angie Huber, NW District Nominating Coordinator, will be soliciting nominations this fall . The treasurer and chair positions have completed their terms and are open for election . If anyone is interested in getting more involved, contact Angie at hubera@findlay.edu .
