Similar to previous years in OPTA’s ve-year trend, the organization continued on a path of nancial stability in 2016 The income/expense ratio remained consistent with recent years, and the breakdown of percentages
for both income and revenue closely resembled 2015. The association looks forward to sustained nancial growth and stability and meeting the needs of the many members we proudly serve
STATEMENT OF INCOME & EXPENSES
INCOME
Income for 2016 can be separated into three main sources:
Membership Dues (40%)
Income in this category can be attributed to dues payments from all types of OPTA members—PT, PTA, Career Starter Dues and Student Memberships This is unchanged from 2015 (40%)
Meeting Income (12%)
Annual Conference, Research Symposium and online partnership courses/webinars comprised 12% of our 2016 income This is up slightly from 2015 (11%)
Other Non-Dues Revenue (48%)
The largest percentage of 2016 income can be attributed to CEU approval fees, newsletter and online advertising, and district income This is relatively unchanged from 2015 (49%)
EXPENDITURES
The four main categories for expenditures in 2016 are as follows:
Administration (47%)
The cost of doing business expenses are recorded in this category—personnel, building and equipment. This is up slightly from 2015 (45)
Conferences & Meetings (24%)
Expenses in this area are largely credited to Annual Conference, Research Symposium, Leadership Development Conference and Board of Directors events This is up somewhat from 2015 (21%)
Advocacy (15%)
Lobbying, Advocacy Day and PAC events account for 15% of expenditures This is down marginally from 2015 (17%)
Public Relations & Member Services (17%)
Publication costs, website and internet, and our #MakePTHappen/#ChoosePT campaign comprised 17% of OPTA expenses in 2015 This has remained steady for the past three years (17%)
