Nominating Committee Report
James Lee, PT, DPT, NCS– Chair
As your nominating chair, my goals are
to keep our current leaders engaged
and to encourage newer therapists
to get involved in the leadership
opportunities that the OPTA has to
offer. The healthcare eld does not
always offer therapists avenues for
advancement or opportunities to
develop as a leader, but the OPTA
does It does not matter if you are a
new graduate or a therapist with years of experience; it is never too early or too late to become involved in your profession If you are a new graduate, perhaps run for a delegate position, get your name out there and start developing those leadership skills now! I think about some of the “overachievers” that work with on a daily basis, and think about how they could contribute to our association Encourage those people to be active and be involved, at the state or district level
With that being said, it is time to start thinking about the 2018 election cycle The open positions for 2018 are: Vice President, Secretary, Director II, Nominating Committee chair, four Delegates and an alternate. I ask that you think about taking that next step in your profession and make a difference, or think about that coworker who could make a difference and encourage him or her to get involved. You may nd more information under the “Elections” tab on the OPTA website There you
will nd timelines and other useful information about the elections process Please feel free to contact me or your district nominating committee coordinator if you have any questions
