Northeast District Report

The Northeast District wrapped up 2017 with more than 150 therapists and students attending our 5th Annual Marilyn Mount Case Report Night The District was also able to award four student scholarships because of our fundraising efforts throughout the year 2018 plans are in the works and we hope to see many therapists and students at our events Stay up to date on Facebook (Northeast District OPTA), Twitter (@NE_Ohio_PT),

2018 Events to include:
Continuing Education Events:
Three 2-hour CEUs and one 2 75-hour CEU: March CEU (topic: Neuro), May CEU (topic: Legislative & AP-TA/ OPTA Update), August CEU (topic: orthopedic), and our 6th Annual Marilyn Mount Case Report Night to be held at the end of the year CEUs are always free for members to attend! $20 per CEU for nonmembers! ($5 for student nonmembers)
Social Events:
PT PubNights throughout the year,
6th Annual Cleveland Indians Night (June 15), 13th Annual Free Clinic Walk
Fundraisers:
Shuf eboard & Wine Tasting in the fall.

NE District Marilyn Mount Case Report Night
START PLANNING: Marilyn Mount Case Report Night has been getting larger every year since we began in 2013 We will be looking for platform and poster submissions of research or case reports done by therapists and students Abstracts will be due in the fall!
STUDENTS! Each year we recognize exemplary students
in the district with student scholarships Other than being an exceptional student who goes above and beyond in school and in the community, you must be an APTA/OPTA member and attend at least one northeast district membership meeting Start planning now on how you are going to earn one of these scholarships! Nominations will open in the fall!

On a personal note, my family and I will be moving to New York this year for new opportunities, this is both an exciting time and a sad time. I want to thank each and every person who has made an impact on our lives here in Ohio. Over the last 16 years we have met such wonderful people in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland and we are so lucky to call so many people our friends. Our Ohio-family will stay in our hearts as we start a new adventure...and you better believe we’ll be back to visit!
