East Central District Report
Jeff Hohl, PT, DPT – Chair
The East Central District is looking forward to an eventful year in 2018!
In January, the East Central District’s board met in Hudson to discuss planning the upcoming year of
events We have numerous member recruitment and social events planned, including two PT Pub Nights and our Second Annual PAC Fundraiser at an Akron RubberDucks baseball game
in July Additionally, we are planning to offer four CEU events this year to promote professional growth of our members Anticipated CEU events include:
• March – Taping (Summa in Akron)
• May – Legislation/Hot Topics (Stark State College)
• November – Student Research Symposium (Youngstown State University)
• December – Credential Clinical Instructor Program (Walsh University)
Please check the East Central calendar online for more details as they become available and be sure to check out www ohiopt org/events for our full calendar of events
As our mentorship program continues to develop, we are inviting students and young clinicians that exhibit leadership qualities to join us for our monthly conference calls and all district events

Southwest District Report
Kelly Moore, PT, DPT – Chair
Greetings from the Southwest District! We had a busy, event- lled 2017 and are looking forward to a fantastic 2018 We ended the year with Lizanne Mulligan’s Upper Extremity Cadaver Review course at the University of Cincinnati on Sept 19, a PT Day
of Service event at the Freestore Foodbank on Oct 14, and a PT Pub Night at The Pub in Rookwood on Nov 3
We appreciate the feedback given by Southwest District members on our Survey Monkey at the end of 2017 Based
on your input, this year we’ll be bringing you more of the events you requested We are continuing to host PT Pub Nights including a joint PT Pub Night with the West Central District, and we are looking forward to more CEU and volunteer opportunities We’ll be hosting a PAC fundraiser, too, most likely at Heids Lanes On the Survey Monkey, many expressed interest in our PT Day of Service event held on Oct 14, 2017 and shared concern that it was not well advertised Unfortunately, we were given a limited number of volunteer slots at Freestore Foodbank and those slots were lled quickly via advertising on Facebook We appreciate that Facebook is a limited audience and apologize to those who were unable
to participate We hope to host a similar event this year and are optimistic we’ll be able to secure more volunteer slots with Freestore Foodbank
Please don’t forget to visit our district page on the OPTA website or connect with us on social media to keep abreast of our scheduled events We are on Facebook as “Southwest District of the Ohio Physical Therapy Association” and on Twitter as “Southwest District” @SouthwestOPTA As always, we appreciate your feedback and suggestions
Thank you for your support and participation at the district level! We hope to see you at a Southwest District event soon!
