The Northwest District has made
several changes in the past year The
board met in July and several members
were appointed to positions As the
newly appointed District Chair, I want to
thank our past chair, Nick Reimer, who
led our district for the past three years

New faces to the board include Lindsay Elchert and Joyce Lammers who will serve as co-chairs for our Continuing Education Committee, Brooke Maltz as secretary, and Jamie O’Brien as student liaison of cer. We are still in need of a Membership Coordinator If you enjoy talking about the great opportunities as a member of the OPTA, then you should consider this leadership position Please email or call me for more details
Continuing Education
In November, Dr Anil Gupta from Toledo Orthopaedic Surgeons Sports Medicine presented “Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: Current Concepts ” The event was well attended as there were more than 90 participants who earned two CE units! In January, the third year DPT students from The University of Toledo presented their scholarly projects at the Robert Livengood Student Research Forum Their alumnus, Dr Catherine Quatman-Yates who is an assistant professor at OSU, served as the keynote speaker and presented “Concussion Conundrum ” The University of Findlay will host their Research Forum on March 1 which will include posters and platform presentations by their third year DPT students On March 13, Drs Michelle Masterson and Scott Euype will provide state and federal updates to participants at St Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, OH This will be our PAC fund raising event, and we are ready for a great turn out!

Upcoming Business Meeting
