Candidate for Chief Delegate
(1 to be elected)
Michelle Masterson, PT, PhD OPTA District: Northwest
Date of Chapter Membership: 1984
I am honored to be nominated to be re-elected for the position of Chief Delegate to the APTA House of Delegates. My rst term as Chief Delegate began in July 2014, and because of excellent mentoring from my predecessor, I was able to hit the ground running and lead the Ohio delegation through the 2015 and 2016 HOD I used my organizational
skills in the months leading up to the HOD to navigate the many processes and procedures required to effectively prepare for the HOD, including mentoring and facilitating delegates in their roles and responsibilities I also spoke with and presented to some of our constituents in two different districts about the issues being presented and discussed at the upcoming HOD
to gather their input and ideas For the 2017 HOD, the Ohio delegation is preparing to take an even more active and vocal role Further, I plan to expand the “Road Show” concept to other districts to discuss issues and gather constituent input
so that we most effectively represent them at the 2017 HOD It is through the interactions and experiences I’ve had as Chief Delegate that I have also been able to encourage students
and colleagues to increase their involvement in the profession by attending meetings, volunteering for leadership roles, and participating in advocacy efforts It has been a wonderful and empowering experience to be part of the process that shapes and de nes our profession. I look forward to your vote so we can continue these efforts
