                                           he Seventh Reunion was celebrated with much elan and gaiety from 9  to 11   January 1985. Since the
                                                                                                                  th
                                    T  event  coincided  with  the  50th  Anniversary  of    the  raising  of  ‘A’  Field    Brigade,  it  was  termed  The
                                    Golden Jubilee Reunion. COAS General A S Vaidya, PVSM, MVC*, AVSM, ADC, and Lieutenant General

                                    Bhupinder  Singh,  PVSM,  GOC-in-C  Central  Command  and  Senior  Colonel  Commandant  graced  the
                                    occasion. Lieutenant General Jitender Sud, PVSM was the Commandant School of Artillery and Brigadier SK
                                    Mathur, MVC the Commandant Artillery Centre, Nasik Road.

                                            Though the history of Indian Artillery pre-dates 1935, the significance of  15  January 1935 lies in the
                                                                                                                         th
                                    fact that it was on this date, that A Field  Brigade  with the  first Indian Officers was raised. The  foremost
                                    purpose  of  the  celebrations  were  three  fold;  firstly  to  honour  those  who  valiantly  laid  down  their  lives  as
                                    sentinels of the Nation, secondly, to assure once again the bereaved families that they were not alone in their

                                    grief  and  hour  of  need;  and  thirdly  to  provide  an  opportunity  for  those  retired  and  serving  to  meet  and
                                    exchange old memories.
