REGIMENT OF ARTILLERY-THROUGH THE REUNIONS
REGIMENTAL BANDS
ilitary Band of Artillery Centre, Nasik Road was raised
M in June 1947 in the erstwhile State of Kapurthala,
under Maharaja Jagjit Singh. It was led by the first band
master, Subedar Ranjit Singh. In November 1948, the band
was transferred to the erstwhile state of Nabha, but soon
afterwards during July 1949 it was presented to the erstwhile
state of PEPSU. When the state of PEPSU was dissolved, this
Military Band was allotted to Regiment of Artillery in May
1951 and was located at the Artillery Centre, Nasik Road.
The Pipes and Drums Band was raised by the Royal
Artillery Centre (South) Pollachi during 1948. It moved to
Nasik Road in the same year under band majors Battery
Havildar Major Munshi Lal and Havildar Niranjan Singh.
The Band took part in the first Gunners Reunion in 1951
which was held at the Artillery Centre, Nasik Road and has
performed at all Reunions since. The Regimental Band members sharing a light moment
