meditation “Orguhuokhtaakh kyys”
(A Girl with a Yoke) was staged, under the
motives of S.A. Zverev’s similarly named
fairy tale – toyuk, with N. Mikheev’s music.
The director is S. Potapov. It is nowadays
understanding of the well-known Yakut
fairy tale. The performance touched the
global problems of mankind deprived
of individuality, globalisation negative
influence, individual features levelling,
depersonalisation, the loss of cultural
heritage variety, and etc.
From 2004 to 2009, in the theatre,
the trilogy was staged on the motives of
Yakut epos -olonkho “Bart Khara”, which
consisted of three separate performances:
“Ayyy Aymaga” (“The Middle World”)
with N. Petrov’s music, “Uodan Tugaga”
(“The Lower World”) with P. Ivanova’s
music, “Uohaa doydu dokhsunnara” (“The
Warriors of the Upper World”) with
V. Ksenofontov’s music. The ballet-master
and director of the trilogy is G.S. Baishev.
This is a big creative theatre project on the
topic of the epos olonkho. The first night
was in 2009. The performance reflected the
confrontation of three worlds, the eternal
theme of good and evil, the protection
of ayyy tribe, and the devastating power
of evil spirits. In the performance, there
are interesting choreographic solutions.
The music of three parts mirrored the
individual approaches of three different
Yakut composers to the heroic epos
theme. However, the stylistics of
the choreographic language was not
polished. This performance dramaturgy
