USDA NATIONAL CENTER FOR AGRICULTURE
UTILIZATION RESEARCH WING RENOVATION
The USDA National Center for Agriculture Utilization Research Wing Renovation Phases
III and IV project, built for the United States Department of Agriculture Research Service,
included the renovation of a 48,400-square foot agricultural research laboratory.
The facility functions as a working research environment consisting of state-of-the art
industrial wet labs and office spaces. The agricultural research laboratory was constructed
of a concrete structural frame and a brick exterior. The project also featured upgrades
of the mechanical and electrical systems and laboratory areas as well as replacing
fume hoods, windows, and roofs. Renovations improved the overall safety and health
characteristics of the laboratories, enhanced overall energy efficiency, and reduced the
cost of the operation and maintenance of the research laboratory. Due to CORE’s strategic
coordination between the project team and the client, the USDA National Center for
Agriculture Utilization Research Wing Renovation Phases III and IV project minimized
disruptions in research operations resulting in improved productivity.
