PUBLIC SECTOR EXPERIENCE | MUNICIPAL
QUEEN CREEK LIBRARY
The Queen Creek Library project, built for the Town of Queen Creek, included
the new construction of a single-story 47,000 square foot library located in
Queen Creek, Arizona The facility functions as a multi-purpose community
gathering place. The library was constructed with a steel and masonry structural
frame on a slab on grade concrete foundation, an exterior of masonry,
aluminum storefront, and limestone veneer, and a single ply polyvinyl chloride,
standing seam metal roof. The project also features general reading rooms,
children’s center, study rooms, and conference rooms. This project achieved
Gold Certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design from
the U.S. Green Building Council based on the sustainable features of solar
reflective insulating foam on the roof, low-volatile organic compound paints,
underground storm water retention system, and water efficient plumbing
fixtures. Due to CORE’s state-of-the-art green construction practices, the Town
of Queen Creek Library project became the first municipal building designed
and constructed with green building features in community of Queen Creek.
