    DEBRA NELSON MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Debra Nelson Middle School project, built for the Frisco Independent School District, included the new construction of a 145,000-square-foot middle school campus located in Frisco, TX. The facility houses 55 classrooms, a library, three science labs, a practice gymnasium, competition gymnasium, and a cafeteria with kitchen. The school was constructed on a foundation of slab-on-grade concrete and a structural frame comprised of insulating concrete form, structural steel, tilt-wall, and concrete masonry unit block. A stucco and brick exterior and a modified bituminous roof completed the construction. The project also features two lighted tennis courts, a competition sports field with a four-lane running track, discus and shot-put pads with protective cages, multiple event runways and landings, and a 218-space parking lot with ADA compliant parking spaces. The project achieved an Energy Star Rating for a white reflective roof, geothermal HVAC systems, energy management controls, and energy efficient lighting. Debra Nelson Middle School now provides a high performance, energy efficient school campus for students in Frisco.
