RECITAL HALL AT NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERSITY
The Northern Arizona University Recital Hall project included select demolitions and renovations and the new construction of a two-story, 21,291-square-foot performing arts center located in Flagstaff, AZ. The facility supports band and choral classrooms and was constructed on a foundation of reinforced concrete footings with drilled caissons, and a structural steel and masonry frame. An exterior insulation and finish system with a coated foam and granular top coat roof completed the construction. The project also features masonry interior walls and furred-out double width sound isolation walls. Site work included the removal of an exterior ramp, underground storm, water, and sewer lines, landscaping, and hardscaping. This project achieved LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable building products, material re-use, water efficiency, enhanced energy performance, and diversion of waste materials. The Recital Hall project now provides a modern environment for musical expression.
