finishing services, such as e-coat, powder
coating, liquid coating, and electroless nickel
plating, for major manufacturers in Wiscon-
sin and surrounding areas. Additional services include “value-added
light assembly and silk screening”.
In business since 1978, Ad-Tech expanded its footprint from
165,000 square-feet to 245,000 square-feet in 2019 and is positioned
on 8.5 acres of land in Watertown, WI. The company runs multiple
process lines: a cathodic-epoxy ecoat paint pretreatment – 12 stages
including acid pickle and automotive grade zinc phosphate finish
(also meeting MIL-Spec); two, seven-stage powder coat pretreat-
ment lines – spray washers operating acid pickle and iron phosphate
finish; another eight-stage powder coat pretreatment – spray washer
operating acid pickle and advanced pretreatment finish; and an ad-
ditional five-stage powder coat pretreatment – spray washer operat-
ing iron phosphate surface treatment. Other processes include a
manual pressure wand iron phosphate bath finishing booth (for
larger parts), an electroless nickel plating line, a paint stripping
chemistry line (mostly for internal stripping applications), and
finally, multiple continuous wastewater treatment systems.
Ad-Tech was thrilled with the immediate improvements after
converting to Chemetall’s new Gardobond A 4002 iron phosphate
technology. Steve Loritz, Operations Manager for Ad-Tech, says
the company had very high expectations from its latest Chemetall
line conversion.
