Mr. G.Findlay Andrew,

Messrs Butterfield & Swire,

French Bund,

Shanghai.

Dear Mr. Andrew,

Thank you so much for the very interesting story of Mr. Chen-Lin. I have made some notes of it
in a book of old stories which I keep.

I still hope that you will write something out yourself. I dont know whether the English magazines
such as Blackwoods, which publish more objective material than the American magazines, would
be interested in this type of writing.

I wonder if you are really interested in writing, if you would like to have a literary agent who

would look at your material, criticize it, make suggestions and place it for you. If so, I should be
glad to give you the name of my agent, Mr. David Lloyd, Paget Literary Agency, Inc., 415
Lexington Avenue, New York City. I have always found Mr. Lloyd honest and reliable.

I am looking forward to February 8th for tiffin. I shall be at the Hotel Metropole on that day,
reaching there in the morning. You might leave a message for me there, letting me know the time
and the place.
Viceroy Camp,
Sincerely yours,

Pearl S. Buck (Signed)
